In a sense i am struggling at the moment. Its not the food and its not the exercise. I am super good with my food...mostly eat whole foods and i ensure i have a variety...i also get my exercise in...but the scales for the last few months havent moved much. If i change something (like watching my sat fat levels) they drop a bit then i plateau out again which makes me think its fluid more then anything that i am losing. I have been doing a solid 2000 calories every day...and have been sticking to it...maybe i should try cycling my calories again ... who knows??? I got down to 109.5 now ive jumped back over 110 kilos. I know I have PCOS which will always make losing weight a lil bit more of a struggle...and i do wonder whether...the fact i have lost 60 kilos my body is saying "hello give us a break please" then there is also a part of me that thinks maybe i should maintain this weight for a bit and focus on toning etc...i think the worst part of this has been that i set a goal to get under 100 kilos by xmas and i just cant see it happening at this point. And to be honest i am tired of having to every week think...ok i didnt lose this week...what can i change???? It just doesnt seem to make sense to me. But there is a big part of me thinking...the gym measures my body fat....and does my measurements...why not focus on those for a while and make the focus more about health and fitness more so then number on the scales. Maybe i should set a different goal for xmas (like maybe to run 5kms???) Anyway thats my ramble and where my brain is today...hopefully i will be back tomorrow with better news! (weigh in day!)

You have done a phenomenal job with the weight loss and you look fantastic. And that is a lot to do with the exercise so my two bob's worth is to give yourself a break from the scales and focus on something else ... like running 5k.

I get frustrated when people excuse a weight gain as muscle gain when they've walked for 20 minutes and lifted a kilo or two. You, on the other hand, exercise so hard that muscle density may be coming in to play.

Give yourself a break and enjoy your achievements. You really are amazing.

Hey babe. Maybe you should see a naturopath and see if you need to eat specific stuff for your PCOS. My friend lost 40kg after struggling for ages just by changing her milk to soy. Not something that would work for everyone, but for her bloodtype and body - it did. Worth a try? And, you may not see the scales moving, but we sure as hell are. Maybe you should do fortnightly/monthly weigh-ins so that you have a bigger sense of loss. Hugs xox

Kazz, I don't think it matters whether or not you achieve a goal by the set time as long as you know you did everything possible to make it happen. Sometimes our bodies are going to give us reminders that we're not in control, regardless how much we want to be. Sounds like it could be a plateau or your bodies way of catching up a bit. Set your sights on achieving a new goal that is not based on the scales - up the anti with your exercise or like you said focus on measurements or body fat percentages - turn the situation into a positive and you'll break through that weight barrier without even realising it.

Hi Kazz

I don't know the answer, I agree about giving the scales a miss for a short while. After 60 kilos maybe you are going through the dreaded plateau? What does Fiona say. Try not to over think it.

Kazz, you are a champion, you have lost an incredible 60kilos. I'm no expert but maybe your body is just taking its time to adjust to your new weight. I know it must be really frustrating not seeing the scales moving when you work so hard and are so dedicated and determined, but you will get there.
